WEDNESDAY

Bruce Broseker and Tom Denton present Commander Bowman with a frame made from teak deck planking removed from Torsk during the deck project in 1999. The frame was made by Richard "Doc" Beeghly and contains a Denton print of Torsk as she appeared in the 1960's, donated by Tom. The frame will be hung in the crew's mess on board USS Maryland.

Commander Bowman holds the frame.
The plate reads "Presented to the Officers and Crew of USS Maryland SSBN-738 by the Torsk Volunteer Association, Inc., in appreciation of their support of the USS Torsk SS-423 restoration project." In fine print across the bottom is a line that states the frame is made from Torsk teak. The back of the frame is also stamped SS-423 Deck Wood.

Chuck Porcari from the Governor's Office thanking CDR Bowman for all the Maryland Crew's volunteer efforts throughout the state.
