In the forward battery, work begins on installing a new ladder from the passageway hatch, to allow easier access to the battery well.

Frank is grinding down one of the legs that was just a bit too long.

Matt stops by to check out how the ladder that he made fits.

Frank tries out the new ladder. The ladder in the background is our other access point into the battery, but required removing the plexiglass door from the Wardroom, and then removing the seat from over the steel deck plate that covered the access panel. The new ladder will make it easier to enter the battery when we move archives from Taney to Torsk sometime later this year.
