USS Orion AS-18

Scrapping in Baltimore, MD

2006-2007

Orion's propellers sitting on the parking lot in the midst of other equipment and pieces of the ship.

The stern is now out of the water, with one of the partially cut up propellers to the right.

A worker burns off one of the propeller blades.

A view of the stern from the port rear. The stub of the propeller shaft is visible near the center.

Another view of the stern from the starboard side.

This view shows the stern nearly cut away.

Portions of the starboard shaft are visible on the ground in the center of the picture.

Orion is unrecognizable in this image - nearly all of her has been cut into small pieces.
