USS Trout Torpedo Skid Removal and Storage
The first skid comes across from Trout to the pier.
The first skid rests on Matt's trailer. Only five more to go!
*****************
Saturday morning, June 23, several of us met at the Living Classrooms Facility on Caroline Street in Baltimore to unload the skids from the trailer. They will be stored here until a loading plan is developed that will include loading the torpedoes we have in storage.
In this shot, Bruce and Chief Eacho are guiding Gilbert (driving the Bobcat) into the straps for lifting the skid.
The skid comes off the trailer. We put taglines on each end to help control the nearly 18-foot long skid.
Jim looks on as Bruce and Chief Eacho guide the skid onto the stack.
Our six skids in storage, awaiting the next
step - the load!
Many thanks to all the volunteers who worked hard to make this happen!!!
