Torsk Work Weekend 15

October 2-5, 2008

Saturday

The crew crowded into Chesapeake's Wardroom for the sandwiches and chips.

Big Al got the best seat in the house!

Tracey Johnstone and Roy Ator holding a flag from Submarine Squadron 12, Submarine Division 122.

Tracey's father, Commander Richard "Johnny" Johnstone, was COMSUBDIV 122, and he pinned Roy's Gold Dolphins on him on 20 November 1970.

This was while Roy was an LTJG and the Engineering Officer aboard USS Tirante SS-420 based out of Key West, another Tench Class Boat like Torsk!

We had a special visitor on Saturday.

This gentleman was a Torpedoman in the Peruvian Navy, and even served on old USN R-Boats that were sold to Peru many years ago!

Ian Slepian and his brother Mike are getting paint out of the paint locker to do some work around the bow planes topside.

Jim Tolan is hanging the Torsk Battle Flag in the After Torpedo Room.
