Torsk Work Weekend 7

May 11-13, 2001

SATURDAY

Bob Boscarelli stands in the Galley where his father, Joseph "Bosco" Boscarelli cooked for Torsk's crew during her two war patrols.

Steve Birns, Bob Gawe and Ron Olson secure the screw jack under the #1 scope. George Vest and many others of the crew also assisted with the scope project over the course of the weekend. The bearings were pumped full of fresh grease, penetrating oil was soaked into the bearings from the outside, and the scope hydraulic system was checked out for future activation. By the end of the weekend, the #1 scope had been coaxed into turning a full three revolutions. We will continue to grease and exercise the scope in the hopes of having it turning freely soon.

Glenn Herold walks past one of the new Torsk name boards that Al Becker made for the boat. They look absolutely incredible!!

Dave Stoops and James Savary work on securing deck planks back aft, as Pete Stafford repairs sections of the deck forward.
