Just before the boat opened, we had a visit from Coy Gillenwawter GMC (center, in blue shirt) and Bob Lodger, former CO of USS Conway DDE-507. Both Conway veterans were in town for a reunion, and enjoyed a tour of Torsk with their wives to see how submariners lived. Here, Guns is sharing sea stories topside!

On board Taney, a Midshipman assists Tom Miller and Bill Derouin with disassembly of the MK 19 Master Gyro. The gyro was too large and heavy to bring aboard Torsk in one piece.
The Gyro is partially disassembled topside on Taney, ready for transport to Torsk.
