Back topside, Skibo watches from the tank tops as Dick pressure washes the pigeon feathers, doo-doo and carcasses from under the superstructure. On the right is a close-up of Dick at work.
After the superstructure had been pressure washed, new plywood deck was laid over the 2x4 framing mounted on the steel substructure. Crew working on this project included Wheels, Bill, Rod, Cool Bob, Dick, Skibo and John Cole.
Back aft, the stern was out about 10 feet too far from the pier. Wheels showed Gilbert how one guy could move a 1500 ton submarine by standing on the #4 line and drawing the stern in using his weight.
Jim Mandelblatt roping off a part of the deck forward so he could start putting down primer on the new plywood.
