Cool Bob
Mini Work Weekend
January 21-23, 2000
John is painting the shelves in sonar white. The deck was painted green, and looked really great till some lady decided she wanted to see the shack and walked right in!! Her husband grabbed her back out, but not before she left footprints all over the place. It got repainted, and now the shack looks GREAT!!
Tom talks to Ray about the 1MC progress, and the need for a specific type of resistor to return the upper amp back to service. They tested out the General and Collision alarms after this.
We also powered up and tested the snorkel panel. Cool Bob is pressing the head valve test button, which cycled a solenoid in the overhead in the control room. We put air from the SS225 system into the solenoid, and heard something cycling. We thought at first the head valve was actually working, but it turned out to be something in the pump room on the port side that would cycle every time we pressed the button. We'll explore it further!
We also found that the "Secure Snorkel" alarms worked in both engine rooms when tested from the Snorkel Control Panel in Control. Here, Joe is checking out the system in the Forward Engine Room.
