USS Torsk SS-423

1986 Dry Docking

by Chuck Weaver EM2(SS)

A View of the stern, showing the rudder in the center, and the stern dive planes tilted down.

You can also see the hull openings for the stern tubes. The plate that partially covers the upper tube is not original to the boat

Under the stern - the bulge at the upper right is where the starboard propeller shaft exits the hull

Looking forward down the starboard side. The starboard propeller can be seen behind the stern plane

An excellent shot of the starboard propeller and shaft

A view of some of the blocking used to support Torsk while she is out of the water
