2011 Dry Dock Period

January 30-March 21, 2011

Torsk spent nearly seven weeks in dry dock (in company with USS Constellation) at the Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point Shipyard, receiving much needed hull repairs as well as a new coat of paint. General Ship Repair performed the steel work and hull sandblasting and coating.

The members of the Torsk Volunteer Association participated in the drydocking, manning Torsk during the moves to and from drydock, as well as working aboard while she was on the blocks in the dock. It was possible during this time to perform such maintenance items as torpedo tube inspection and tank checkouts without fear of leaks or flooding.

The photos are organized by date taken, and can be seen by clicking the buttons on the left. As part of the drydocking, extensive photo surveys of the underwater hull and equipment during the various stages were taken. We hope you enjoy them!
